 we're football fans, and the football implications seem like just another bad thing in a doomed season

 but 4-8 seems more likely to me

 i mean, the team looks bad

  but not so bad that they can't be competitive in some games this year

 really, everyone is jumping all over the offense and defense

  and there is plenty of blame to go around

  but i really think that a significant portion of the defense's woes come from being on the field too much

  going 3-9 and getting blown out 6 times would be disheartening

  especially to our fan base

  which isn't known for being die hards from orientation until the grave

 but, you are right about spaz, the difference between 3-9 and 5-7 could be his job

 what i saw of that game felt like a punch to the gut followed by taunting about how much the next few punches to the gut were going to feel

  we can whine about jags not embracing recruiting

 but, i think we mainly have to look at our current coaching staff

  basketball has not been down that long

 and while you and i didn't like the jags ultimatum, there was an argument for it that wasn't crazy

 timstwrt no, however, gene fired the most successful basketball coach in the history of the program, so his benefit of the doubt there has been erased

  the jags and skinner situations were odd in different ways, and gene flexed his muscle

 years on, what do we have to show for it?

 it appears that football is in disarray, and that is the big money maker

  but, nobody knows where basketball will be in 2 years

  and hockey is still going strong

 it looks like the ucf game broke our spirits

  but, do you have any hope for the rest of the season?

have no bc fans go to that bowl game

  and then probably lose that bowl game

  i've not seen much to convince me that there are 6 winnable games on the schedule

 percDMdo you feel like the football program is broken?

 timstwrtit's certainly aimless

but i still think rettig can be good if he survives this year

  and if montel redshirts, then there's a solid nucleus in place next year

but what will probably happen instead is that the O-line gets rettig killed, montel doesn't redshirt and then is also killed, and kuechly sets the single season NCAA tackles record before ascending to heaven

  ..or leaving early for the NFL

but at least ascension would be quite a story

  it would probably help recruiting

hopefully, we can dodge your second scenario
off the field stories are becoming our thingand i don't think bc can take multiple losing seasons

  so firing spaz needs to be more than just internet chatter

 if bc keeps spaz on for another year and we don't see a vast improvement next year, then i think there will be a whole new set of leadership in bc sports 

 timstwrtwell, since jags was fired the football team is 15-13 and the basketball team is 57-41

  the curse of jags!

  note: doesn't affect hockey (2010 national champs!)
